Interested in floral design, flower shop management, or the science behind the design? Do you want to learn how to make corsages, boutonnieres, and centerpieces? This course offers you the opportunity to design a variety of floral arrangements and to learn about plants from seed to the final design. The care and sale of floral designs, flowering container plants, and foliage plants will be discussed. Students will care for various plants in the school greenhouse. Identification of flowers and foliages and their appropriate care and use will be stressed, along with design principle in preparing a successful design. The student will be exposed to career opportunities through selected guest speakers.
